|Dale George Barfnecht, age 71, of Mayer, MN passed away on Thursday, November 29, 2018 at Ridgeview Medical Center in Waconia, MN|
He was born on June 1, 1947 in Watertown, MN the son of Walter and Violet (Wandersee) Barfnecht. Dale was baptized at Mt. Olive Lutheran Church in Delano by The Rev. Bruns on June 15, 1947. He was also instructed in the Lutheran Catechism and confirmed in the Christian Faith on March 26, 1961 by The Rev. Wetzel at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Watertown.
Dale graduated eighth grade on May 29, 1961 from St. Paul’s Lutheran School in Watertown.
He farmed all his life.
On August 24, 1968 he married Elizabeth “Betty” Brandenburg at Mt. Olive Lutheran Church in Delano. The Rev. Lenz performed the wedding ceremony. God blessed their marriage with two sons, Daryl and Douglas.
He enjoyed snowmobiling, fishing and tractor pulling. Dale was a faithful member of Zion Lutheran Church in Mayer.
Survived by his loving wife of fifty years, Betty; sons Daryl (Michelle) Barfnecht and Douglas Barfnecht (special friend Amy Martinson) all of Watertown; grandsons Brett (Julia) Barfnecht of Arlington and Tyler Barfnecht of Watertown; siblings Eugene (Donna) Barfnecht, Donald (Mary) Barfnecht all of Watertown, Joan (Ken) Moy of Mayer; sister-in-law Sharon (Jerry) Kahle of Cologne; nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.
Preceded in death by his parents Walter and Violet Barfnecht; parents-in-law Lloyd and Edna Brandenburg; sister and brother-in-law Jane (Duane) Weibel; sister-in-law Janice Barfnecht; and by a nephew Darwin Barfnecht.
A Memorial Service for Dale Barfnecht will be held on Monday, December 3, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Zion Lutheran Church in Mayer. The Reverend Adam Gless will officiate and interment follows at Zion Lutheran Cemetery.
Urn bearers will be Brett Barfnecht and Tyler Barfnecht.
A memorial visitation will be held on Sunday, December 2, 2018 from 5-8 PM at Chilson Funeral Home in Winsted. A prayer service will be held at 7:50 PM Sunday evening. Further visitation will be held at the church on Monday, December 3rd one hour prior to service.
